In an eagerly awaited development, Black Stars coach Chris Hughton is set to reveal the final squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday, January 1, 2024. The much-anticipated announcement will take place at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, marking the commencement of the Black Stars’ preparations for the prestigious tournament.
Having initially disclosed a provisional 55-man squad last week, Hughton will now narrow down his selection to 27 players who will represent Ghana in the competition. Subsequent to the squad revelation, the chosen players will gather in Kumasi for a ten-day training camp before embarking on their journey to Abidjan.
Adding to the pre-tournament preparations, a friendly match against Namibia has been confirmed for January 8, 2024, in Kumasi, offering the team valuable match practice ahead of the AFCON showdown.
