Football Legends Boost Black Stars’ Morale Ahead of Crucial Clash in Africa Cup of Nations 2023

Four Africa Cup of Nations Champions, including legends Rev. Osei Kofi, James Kuuku Dadzie, Kofi Pare, and Willie Klutse, visited the Black Stars’ training ground in BengerVille on Saturday to provide motivation ahead of their crucial group B clash with Mozambique on Monday. These revered figures are currently in Cote D’Ivoire to lend their support to the team participating in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023.

Rev. Osei Kofi, a distinguished Asante Kotoko and Ghana legend, emerged as a joint top scorer in the 1965 Africa Cup of Nations held in Tunisia, leading Ghana to its second tournament victory. Additionally, he secured the third-highest goal tally in the 1968 Africa Cup of Nations in Ethiopia.

Kofi Pare, a participant in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, and a member of the 1965 Africa Cup of Nations-winning squad, holds an impressive record with six goals in a single match, the highest ever recorded in Ghana.

James Kuuku Dadzie, renowned as one of Ghana’s finest central defenders, played a crucial role in the 1978 and 1980 African Cup of Nations, contributing to Ghana’s historic victories.

Willie Klutse, a member of the Ghana squad that triumphed in the 1978 Africa Cup of Nations and scored against Nigeria, currently serves as the technical director of former Premier League side Inter Allies Football Club.

These football legends have been present in Abidjan since the start of the tournament, actively supporting the team from the stands during group games against Cape Verde and Egypt.

Ghana is set to face Mozambique at Stade Alassane Ouattara in Ebimpe on Monday, January 22, 2024.”
