Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has quashed rumors surrounding a potential departure from AC Milan, asserting his determination to stay and compete for a place in the squad. Despite talks of interest from top clubs, including Arsenal, Chukwueze, who moved from Villarreal to AC Milan for €20 million last season, remains steadfast in his commitment to the Serie A giants.
The 24-year-old’s performance at AC Milan has fallen short of expectations, with only two goals and one assist in 19 appearances across various competitions. Coach Stefano Pioli has often utilized Chukwueze as a substitute, and some starts have been necessitated by the team’s injury challenges.
Despite the challenging start, Chukwueze is determined to prove himself and dispel any notions of leaving the club. He stated, “I’m not leaving because I need to prove myself. They signed me for quite good money. Me leaving AC Milan means that I’m just shying away from my responsibilities.”
Expressing his commitment to the club, Chukwueze emphasized the need to focus, work hard, and showcase his potential at the renowned football club. Currently with the Super Eagles in Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Chukwueze remains resolute in his ambitions with AC Milan.
