The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced plans to conduct the Draw Ceremony for the African Games Football Tournaments (Men and Women) during the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Final Tournament. Hosted on the sidelines of this major event, the draw will determine the matchups for the 13th African Games, Ghana 2023.
Ghana, along with the eight quarterfinalists from the TotalEnergies U-20 AFCON, Egypt 2023, has qualified for the football tournament. The participating teams include Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Congo, The Gambia, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia, and Uganda. These teams will be distributed into two groups, with Ghana positioned in Group A1 and Nigeria in Group B1 as the runners-up of the previous edition.
The 13th African Games are scheduled to be hosted by Ghana from Friday, March 8, to Saturday, March 23, 2024. The draw ceremony is set to take place on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Sofitel Hotel in Abidjan.
