Young Sensation Cyprian Kachwele Receives Tanzania Call-Up for AFCON 2024

Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2’s rising star, Cyprian Kachwele, is set to make his mark on the international stage as he joins the Tanzania men’s national team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

The 18-year-old striker, acquired by Whitecaps FC 2 in August, aims to showcase his talent in Tanzania’s Group F matches against Morocco, Zambia, and Democratic Republic of the Congo on January 17, 21, and 24, respectively.

Kachwele’s journey to the national team is remarkable, considering his recent move to Vancouver in November ahead of the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season.

The product of Azam FC, known for his goal-scoring prowess, has swiftly adapted to the Canadian soccer scene. This call-up not only emphasises Kachwele’s individual growth but also underlines the global platform that MLS NEXT Pro provides for emerging talents.

As the AFCON 2024 kicks off, all eyes will be on Kachwele, who will be looking to make his senior international debut and contribute to Tanzania’s quest for success in the tournament.
