Adepoju Cautions Super Eagles Ahead of Tough AFCON Quarterfinal Clash with Angola”

Former Real Madrid midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has issued a cautionary message to the Super Eagles, advising them to approach Friday evening’s quarterfinal clash against Angola with vigilance at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan.

Angola has showcased their full potential at the 2023 AFCON, securing consecutive victories against Burkina Faso and Namibia. Their attacking prowess has been evident, tallying nine goals in four games, with Gelson Dala (4) and Agostinho Cristóvão Paciência (3) ranking among the top four goalscorers.

Adepoju, a 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner with the Super Eagles, anticipates a tough encounter against Angola, stating, “It will be a difficult match. They played well in the group stage, and therefore, Nigeria must be cautious,” as reported by Sportblog247.com.

While acknowledging that the Super Eagles are favorites with the elimination of North African countries and defending champions Senegal, Adepoju emphasizes the need for unwavering commitment from all players. He urges them to give their all, emphasizing the challenging nature of winning the championship.

“There must be commitment on the part of all players. They must give everything they have and be satisfied with themselves because the championship is difficult to win,” he concluded.
