Reports from local media indicate that Ghana Premier League team, Karela United, has named Abukari Damba as their interim head coach. This decision comes in the wake of the resignation of their former head coach, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko, who faced challenges in the first half of the season.

Abukari Damba, a former goalkeeper for the Ghana Black Stars turned coach, has been entrusted with overseeing the technical aspects of the team, providing interim leadership until a permanent coach is selected.

Struggling to secure positive outcomes in the initial phase of the season, Karela United currently occupies the 17th position, placing them in the relegation zone of the Ghana Premier League. With only 17 points from 17 games played in the first round, they are a single point away from safety.
