Race for Black Stars Coach: European Talents Vie for Coveted Position”

Four prominent European coaches have reportedly submitted their Curriculum Vitaes (CVs) for consideration in the search for a new head coach for the Black Stars, following the dismissal of Chris Hughton.

One of the early applicants is German strategist Jurgen Kohler, who engaged in discussions with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) last Tuesday. Kohler diligently submitted his application to the five-member search committee well before the February 2 deadline.

Additionally, the vacant position has attracted interest from former Real Madrid and Barcelona star Robert Prosinecki, who, along with ex-Hamburg and German coach Felix Magath, has expressed a desire to lead the Black Stars. Prosinecki’s agent, Vukoja Josip, has officially confirmed the submission of his client’s application to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the pursuit of securing the coaching role.

Furthermore, reports indicate that former Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic has thrown his hat in the ring once again, expressing interest in returning for a second stint. The Serbian-born coach has reportedly submitted the necessary documents to be considered for the role.

The four-time African champions find themselves without a permanent coach after the dismissal of Chris Hughton following the disappointing performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Hughton, along with the entire technical team, exited the team following the Black Stars’ challenging campaign, which saw them draw two games and suffer one defeat, ultimately finishing third in Group B behind Cape Verde and Egypt

This will lead no where. The staff of GFA rather need to be changed not Coaches.
