Samson Deen, a member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Chairman of the Transport Committee for the 13th African Games, is fervently rallying support for Ghana’s national youth female team, the Black Princesses, as they advance to the final of the women’s football event at the international multisport festival.
Recognizing the significance of football, Deen emphasizes that securing gold in this sport would be tantamount to winning the entire festival. He has introduced an activation slogan, “Target the podium for gold and take it by force,” rallying the nation behind the Black Princesses’ quest for victory.
The upcoming Women’s Football Final, scheduled for Thursday at 8 pm against Nigeria’s Falconets, reignites the longstanding sporting rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria. Despite Nigeria’s success in various disciplines, they are eager to add football medals to their tally. However, Deen asserts that Ghanaians are determined not to relinquish the football gold, opting instead to seize it forcefully.
According to the CEO of African Origin Travel and Tours, Ghana is mobilizing supporters to storm the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in a bid to claim what rightfully belongs to them.
“It’s Free Gate, Free Seating, Free Enjoyment, and Free Accra 2023 Official Games T-Shirt at the Cape Coast Stadium,” Deen declared, encouraging football enthusiasts to contact Bright at 024 409 4605 or WES MIKE at 024 629 2106 to secure a spot on the free bus to Cape Coast and back.
In a parallel triumph, Ghana’s national Under-20 team, the Black Satellites, has also secured a spot in the final by defeating Senegal 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The football final is scheduled for Friday.
