Ghana’s Impressive Performance at 4-Nation Junior Athletics Championship in Cote D’Ivoire

Ghana’s young athletics team secured a remarkable total of 19 medals, comprising 12 Gold, 5 Silver, and 2 Bronze at the recently concluded 4-Nation Junior Athletics Championships at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire.

In the latest update of results, Aisha Ibrahim and Latifa Haruna clinched the 1st and 3rd positions in the women’s U18 400m finals with times of 56.43sec and 1:00.01 respectively.

Naseera Quansah and Amanda Yeboah also achieved 1st and 4th places in the women’s U20 100m finals with times of 12.08sec and 12.76sec (+0.3) respectively, while Joseph Andoh Kwofie and Sarfo Isaac secured the 1st and 3rd positions in the men’s U20 100m finals with times of 10.69sec and 10.83sec (+1.4) respectively.

Isaac Beniako claimed 2nd place in the men’s U18 400m finals with a time of 50.22sec, while Gloria Amoh won the U18 women’s long jump finals with a jump of 4.62m.

The Ghana U20 quartet claimed the top spot in the women’s 4x100m relay finals with a time of 48.56sec. The team consisted of Lois Owusu Asantewaa, Naseera Afuah Quansah, Abdulai Sakina, and Christiana Amanda Yeboah.

Similarly, the Ghana U20 quartet finished first in the men’s 4x100m relay finals with a time of 41.89sec. The team comprised Joseph Andoh Kwofie, Francis Liberty Fantivie, Isaac Sarfo, and Abubakar Hamza.

Prince Yaw Gyasi Adu emerged victorious in the U18 men’s high jump finals with a jump of 1.90m.

The 4-Nation Junior Athletics Championship was held at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
