Gambaga, situated in the North East Region, was filled with jubilation as Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, laid the foundation stone on Monday, May 13, 2024, marking the commencement of an ambitious project—the construction of a contemporary sports complex.
This initiative aims to provide modern sports facilities for the youth of Gambaga and its neighboring areas, while also serving as a vibrant social hub for the community.
Addressing the attendees at the sod-cutting ceremony, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the Gambaga Sports Complex, upon completion, will serve as a platform for nurturing youth talents in sports and will provide the local teams with a quality playing field.
Under the supervision of the contractor, Wembley Sports, the project, funded by Ghana Gas, is slated for completion within five months. The complex will boast a range of amenities including a 1000-seater stand, VIP section, restrooms, locker rooms, and administrative offices.
It’s worth noting that just a few months ago, Dr. Bawumia personally financed another sports complex, the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex, in Nalerigu, demonstrating his commitment to fostering sports infrastructure across the region.
