GFA President Pays Tribute to Late Black Stars Trainer: A Show of Solidarity

In a poignant demonstration of solidarity and compassion, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), paid his respects to the late Black Stars fitness trainer, Ricky Roy Romeo, by signing a book of condolences on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Accompanied by members of the football community, President Okraku attended the one-week commemoration ceremony for Ricky Roy Romeo in Accra.

The delegation included various football administrators such as GFA Executive Council member Samuel Aboabire, Dreams FC President Jiji Mohammed Alifoe, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum, Black Stars physiotherapist Samuel Kwame Ankomah, and Michael Osekre, President of Vision FC, where Ricky served as a club official.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the GFA Director of Communications conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed the GFA’s commitment to collaborating closely with them to ensure Ricky receives a dignified funeral.

The Book of Condolences, adorned with messages from friends and members of the football community, serves as a poignant tribute to the lasting impact Ricky had on all who knew him.

The final funeral rites are scheduled to take place at Burma Camp during the weekend of June 14-16, 2024.
