Ghana Premier League Resumes After MTN FA Cup Break

The 2023-24 Ghana Premier League returns this weekend following a break for the MTN FA Cup semi-final games, which captivated fans at the WAFA Park in Sogakope.

With only five games remaining, the final stretch will be crucial for determining the league champion and the teams that will face relegation from Ghana’s top-flight league.

Second-placed Nations FC will kick off the weekend with a pivotal match against Accra Lions at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Friday, May 17, 2024.

Saturday features two marquee matches: Asante Kotoko will travel to the Golden City Park to face Berekum Chelsea, and Legon Cities will clash with Accra Great Olympics at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.

Six matches are scheduled for Sunday. Hearts of Oak will play Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the match set to kick off at 15:00 GMT (3:00 PM). Nsoatreman FC will host Bibiani GoldStars at the Professor Nana Kalamansis Park, and Karela United will travel to the Nana Gyeabour Park to face Bechem United.

Defending champions Medeama will be at home to battle relegation-threatened Real Tamale United (RTU), while Dreams FC will take on fellow strugglers Heart of Lions at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu. League leaders FC Samartex 1996 will face Bofoakwa Tano at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday.
