Ghanaian Midfielder Bernard Mensah Shines as Third Best Dribbler in Saudi Pro League, Surpassing Ronaldo and Mane

Ghanaian midfielder Bernard Mensah has distinguished himself as the third most successful dribbler in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season. The former Atletico Madrid star showcased his talent in his debut campaign in the Gulf nation, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 30 matches for Al Tai.

Mensah’s exceptional dribbling skills have made him one of the league’s most exciting players, outperforming both Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane of Al-Nassr. Only Lucas Zelerayan of Al Fateh, with 147 successful dribbles, and Alan Saint-Maximin of Al Ahli, with 146, have surpassed the Ghanaian’s 139 successful dribbles.

His remarkable performances have garnered attention from top Saudi clubs, including Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad. Although he retired from international football in 2021, a potential return to the Black Stars remains undecided.

Here are the top five successful dribblers in the SPL:

  1. Lucas Zelerayan (Al Fateh) – 147 successful dribbles
  2. Alan Saint-Maximin (Al Ahli) – 146 successful dribbles
  3. Bernard Mensah (Al Tai) – 139 successful dribbles
  4. Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr)
  5. Sadio Mane (Al-Nassr)
