Golden Eaglets Pass MRI Tests Ahead of WAFU B U17 Championship, Coach Garba Optimistic

Manu Garba, head coach of the Golden Eaglets, has expressed his satisfaction with the MRI test results, confirming the eligibility of all 20 players for the upcoming WAFU B U17 Championship in Accra, Ghana, as reported by Sportblog247.com.

The Confederation of African Football announced on Tuesday that all Nigerian players had successfully passed the MRI tests, aligning with the pre-departure tests conducted by the Nigeria Football Federation. This ensures the squad’s full eligibility to compete and defend their title, won last year in Ghana.

Garba expressed his delight at the news, emphasizing that having the entire squad available eases their preparations. He highlighted the players’ positive response to training and the familiar weather conditions, resembling those in Abuja.

With their sights set on securing one of the two tickets to the Africa U17 Cup of Nations, Garba stressed the team’s focus on taking each match step by step, starting with the opening game against Burkina Faso on Thursday.

The Golden Eaglets will kick off their title defense against Burkina Faso at the University Stadium on Thursday, May 16, with kickoff scheduled for 3 pm Ghana time (4 pm Nigeria time). Subsequent matches include encounters with Niger Republic on Sunday, May 19 (6 pm Ghana, 7 pm Nigeria), and Togo on Wednesday, May 22 (4 pm Ghana, 5 pm Nigeria), with the venue details specified accordingly.
