The head coach of the Golden Eaglets, Manu Garba, has announced the 19-man squad for the upcoming WAFU B U-17 Championship, as per Sportblog247.com.
The five-time world champions and reigning WAFU B U-17 titleholders will commence their title defense against Burkina Faso on May 16th.
After extensive training in Abuja and careful selection based on MRI test results, which narrowed down the initial 51-player pool, Garba finalized the squad to meet the mandatory 19-player requirement.
The team, accompanied by officials, will depart from Abuja for Accra, Ghana, on Saturday to prepare for the tournament.
In subsequent matches, the Nigerian team will face Niger and Togo on Sunday, May 19, and Wednesday, May 22, respectively, aiming to display their talent and determination on the field.
Leading up to the tournament, the team participated in nine friendly matches, achieving six victories, two draws, and one loss.
