Sportblog247.com reports that Inter Milan, the newly crowned Italian champions, are targeting 17-year-old striker George Ilenikhena from Royal Antwerp to rejuvenate their attacking lineup in the upcoming transfer window.
With the impending departures of veterans Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautović, Inter aims to infuse fresh talent into their squad, aligning with coach Inzaghi’s vision of a futuristic team.
Ilenikhena, born in Lagos and compared to Napoli’s Osimhen, has caught Inter’s attention with his promising performances for Royal Antwerp. Despite his young age, he has already made significant contributions, being involved in 15 goals in 48 appearances since joining from Amiens SC last summer.
While Inter had previously shown interest in Ilenikhena, they were unable to secure his signature, leading him to join Amiens SC instead. Now, La Gazetta dello Sport reports that Inter sees him as a valuable addition to their squad.
Although Antwerp is said to demand around 20 million euros for the wonderkid, Inter considers the price steep. However, they are open to negotiations and hope to persuade the club by offering future incentives in the deal.
Ilenikhena, eligible to represent either Nigeria or France, has yet to announce his international allegiance, adding another layer of intrigue to his potential move to Inter Milan.
