John Mahama Supports RTU with GHC100k Donation After Meeting

Former President John Dramani Mahama has demonstrated his backing for Real Tamale United (RTU) by donating a substantial sum of one hundred thousand Ghana cedis.

This act of philanthropy followed a meeting held in Accra on Wednesday between Mahama and the club’s management, during which the management updated Mahama on the club’s current status and ongoing efforts to revive its past success.

Mahama, also the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed his satisfaction with the courtesy call and reflected on his previous collaborations with management teams to strengthen RTU’s position in Ghanaian football.

The club’s Public Relations Officer disclosed that Mahama pledged steadfast support to the current management in their efforts to restructure RTU, ensuring its longevity and competitiveness in the football landscape.

In a gesture of support, Mahama generously donated one hundred thousand cedis to the club.

In response, RTU’s CEO, Zakaria Safianu, conveyed appreciation to Mahama for the generous contribution, emphasizing its vital role in aiding the club’s participation in upcoming matches.

RTU currently sits at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points from 29 games, with a game in hand.
