Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah showcased his exceptional talent for Al-Nasr Benghazi in a thrilling match against Al Hilal Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League. Sowah’s remarkable performance saw him net four goals, leading his team to a commanding 6-3 win at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi.
The former Medeama SC standout displayed his scoring prowess with two well-converted penalty kicks and two sublime strikes, completing his impressive tally in the matchday 17 fixture.
Sowah wasted no time, opening the scoring just three minutes into the game from the penalty spot. He quickly doubled Al-Nasr’s lead with another successful penalty kick three minutes later.
Continuing his dominance, the 25-year-old completed a first-half hat-trick with another goal just before halftime. His scoring spree continued in the 72nd minute, contributing significantly to his team’s victory.
Additional goals from defender Mohamed Eshtewi and Tunisian player Mohamed Ali Jouini sealed the resounding win for Al-Nasr, further solidifying their position atop the league standings with 37 points.
Sowah’s stellar display extends his impressive record since joining Al-Nasr from Medeama in January, having now scored five goals and provided an assist in just seven appearances.
Reports indicate that Sowah’s outstanding form has earned him a call-up to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
