Michael Baidoo Shines as Elfsborg Crushes AIK Stockholm Amid Leicester City Interest

Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo showcased his talent in response to transfer speculation linking him with a move to Leicester City, delivering a stellar performance on Monday.

The 25-year-old scored one goal and provided an assist in IF Elfsborg’s dominant 6-1 victory over AIK Stockholm during the Swedish Allsvenskan’s Round 9 at Boras Arena.

Ghanaian teenager Jalal Abdullai opened the scoring for Elfsborg just six minutes into the match, courtesy of an assist from Baidoo. Abdullai doubled the lead shortly after, followed by a goal from Ahmed Qasem, putting the home team comfortably ahead by half-time.

Early in the second half, Baidoo added to the tally with a brilliant solo effort, navigating through AIK’s defense to score. Qasem then netted his second goal at the 60-minute mark and completed his hat-trick just before the final whistle.

AIK’s Bersant Celina scored a consolation goal in the 73rd minute. The visitors ended the match with ten players after Mads Thychosen was sent off.

Baidoo, who is drawing attention for a potential summer transfer, now boasts 3 goals and 2 assists in eight appearances for Elfsborg this season.
