Swedish Club Elfsborg Signs Ghanaian Talent Rufai Mohammed from Inter Allies

IF Elfsborg has announced the signing of young Ghanaian center-back Rufai Mohammed from Inter Allies FC, securing him on a contract through the 2028 season.

Expressing his excitement, Rufai said, “I am very happy to be here. The people I have met in and around the team are amazing and very helpful.”

Rufai is no stranger to Elfsborg, having previously trained with the U19 squad and played matches with the U21 team during a spring stint in 2023. This experience fueled his desire to return and become a key player for the club.

At Elfsborg, Rufai will reunite with fellow Ghanaian and childhood friend Jalal Abdullai. Both players grew up in the same village and received their football education at Inter Allies’ academy.

Reflecting on his journey, Rufai highlighted his time representing Ghana’s national youth team, where he captained the squad to a third-place finish at the WAFU tournament.

Describing himself as tall, strong, and defensively resolute, Rufai is eager to integrate into Elfsborg’s first team and contribute to the club’s future successes both on and off the field.
