Ertuğrul Doğan, the president of Trabzonspor, has disclosed the transfer fee demanded by Southampton for Paul Onuachu.
Southampton has set a price tag of €15 million for Onuachu, equivalent to approximately ₦25 billion in Nigerian currency.
Since joining Trabzonspor on loan in September 2023, the Super Eagles striker has made a significant impact, tallying 14 goals and 4 assists in 20 Super League matches.
His stellar performances have prompted Trabzonspor to pursue a permanent deal for the Nigerian international, potentially making him the club’s most expensive signing to date, surpassing Majeed Waris’s current record of €6.9 million.
President Ertuğrul Doğan, speaking to TRT Radio via Ntvspor, confirmed ongoing negotiations with Southampton and expressed confidence in reaching an agreement.
The prospect of Onuachu’s transfer has ignited excitement among Trabzonspor supporters, eager to witness his continued success in the Super League. With the season drawing to a close, Trabzonspor is actively working to finalize the deal and strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.
Trabzonspor is poised to make a substantial investment in their team, with Onuachu expected to play a pivotal role should the transfer come to fruition.
