Victor Moses Departs Spartak Moscow After Two-Year Stint

Russian Premier League club Spartak Moscow has officially announced the departure of former Nigeria international Victor Moses at the end of the 2023-2024 season.

Moses, who spent nine years at Chelsea, making him the longest-serving player on a first-team contract at the club, joined Spartak Moscow initially on loan before securing a permanent deal in July 2021.

His final home appearance for Spartak Moscow was marked by a 3-1 victory over Rubin Kazan, where he came off the bench in the 76th minute to replace Théo Bongonda.

During his time with Spartak, the 33-year-old versatile midfielder appeared in 84 matches, contributing to twenty goals for the team. Notably, he was part of the Spartak Moscow squad that clinched the Russian Cup with a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Moscow in May 2022.

Throughout his career, Moses was loaned out to several clubs while at Chelsea, including Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United, Fenerbahce, Inter Milan, and Spartak Moscow.

The former 2007 European U17 Championship top scorer departed Chelsea after achieving success in various competitions, including winning the Europa League, FA Cup, and Premier League titles, with a total of 18 goals in 128 appearances for the London club.
