Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi is in high demand as three top clubs have made concrete moves to sign him from Leicester City, according to Sportblog247.com.
Ndidi, one of Nigeria’s most dynamic midfielders, is set to leave Leicester City this summer after spending seven-and-a-half years with the Foxes. The 27-year-old will be available on a free transfer in July as his contract with Leicester expires at the end of this month.
Leicester City, newly promoted back to the Premier League after a year in the Championship, are interested in keeping Ndidi. However, the two parties have not agreed on a new deal, encouraging several clubs to target the Nigerian star.
According to GFNF, Everton, Lyon, and Olympique de Marseille have made offers to Ndidi. Additionally, AS Monaco and Sevilla have shown interest in the midfielder.
Ndidi, who previously spent two years in Belgium with KRC Genk, may prefer to stay in England. He could be tempted to move to Everton if no agreement is reached with Leicester, although the Toffees do not have European football to offer.
The desire to play in European competitions could lead Ndidi to sign with Lyon, who qualified for the Europa League after a strong finish last season.
A Nigerian international since his debut in 2015, Ndidi helped the Super Eagles win a bronze medal at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. He missed the 2023 AFCON due to injury, where he was replaced by Alhassan Yusuf, and the Super Eagles finished as runners-up.
