Former Ghanaian President Kufuor Becomes Patron of Kenpong Football Academy

Kenpong Football Academy, led by football mogul Kennedy Agyepong, has achieved a significant milestone as former President John Agyekum Kufuor agrees to serve as a patron of the academy.

President Kufuor, in a letter dated June 4, 2024, conveyed his decision to Kenpong, opting to be a patron instead of the initially proposed role of Board Chairman. In his letter, he commended Kenpong for his vision in establishing the football academy and expressed his eagerness to contribute as a patron.

As a patron, President Kufuor will utilize his vast experience, influence, and reputation to contribute to the growth and development of the Kenpong Academy.

Kenpong, the Academy’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed gratitude and honor at President Kufuor’s decision to associate with the academy. He highlighted the significance of this partnership, noting its potential to enhance the academy’s image and recognition.

Kenpong Football Academy, situated in Winneba, boasts state-of-the-art facilities comparable to the best in the world, including a world-class pitch, swimming pools, gyms, studios, and hostels for players and staff. Agyepong has also secured the services of a foreign coach to train young players to meet European and American standards.

President Kufuor, a respected statesman, served as Ghana’s president from January 2001 to January 2009 and held the position of Chairperson of the African Union from January 2007 to January 2008. Prior to his presidency, he served in various capacities as a minister, member of parliament, and legal officer for the City of Kumasi.
