Ghanaian Midfielder Simon Zibo Signs with Maltese Giants Sliema Wanderers

Ghanaian midfielder Simon Zibo has joined Maltese top-flight side Sliema Wanderers.

The former Liberty Professionals player has signed a two-year contract with the record champions, transferring from their rivals, Birkirkara FC.

The 26-year-old midfielder will start training with his new teammates next week as they begin pre-season preparations for the 2024/25 campaign.

Sliema Wanderers announced Zibo’s arrival on their official social media pages, stating, “Simon Zibo joins the BLUES! The 26-year-old defensive midfielder joins the Blues on a permanent basis after spending the past 2 seasons already playing in the Maltese Premier League with Birkirkara FC. Welcome to Sliema, Simon!!”

Sliema Wanderers will participate in European football qualifiers next month and have added Zibo to strengthen their squad. They will face the winner of the match between KF Shkendija and FC Noah in the second round of qualifiers for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
