Sportblog247.com reports that Francis Odinaka Uzoho, the talented Super Eagles goalkeeper currently with Omonia Nicosia, has attracted interest from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s childhood club, Malmö FF.
At just 18, Uzoho became the youngest foreign goalkeeper to debut in Spain’s La Liga. Now, Malmö FF, currently leading Sweden’s Allsvenskan, is reportedly in talks with Omonia Nicosia regarding a potential transfer for Uzoho.
Despite being second-choice at Omonia behind Fabiano, Uzoho has tasted success, winning the Cypriot Cup in 2022 and 2023. Valued at approximately €500k, Uzoho’s contract with Omonia runs until 2027, though financial terms are not expected to hinder Malmö FF’s pursuit.
Uzoho, who faced criticism for an error in Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying match against Ghana in 2022, has since faced competition for the national team’s goalkeeper spot, notably missing out on recent squad selections.
As Malmö FF pursues their 24th league title, the potential addition of Uzoho could bolster their squad significantly.
