Mohammed Salisu Confident of Victory Ahead of Crucial Qualifier Against Mali

Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu remains optimistic about the Black Stars’ chances ahead of their critical World Cup qualifier against Mali in Bamako on Thursday, June 6.

After five days of intensive training in Accra, the Black Stars will depart for Bamako on Tuesday to prepare for the Group I headliner.

Salisu, who ended the season strongly with AS Monaco in France, is expected to play a pivotal role for the team in Bamako. Reflecting on a challenging debut at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, Salisu expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a positive result against the Eagles of Mali.

“This game is very important for every Ghanaian. It is a World Cup qualifier, and we know how crucial it is for Ghanaians. We have talented young players, and Ghanaians need to believe in us. We can do better,” Salisu told reporters during the Black Stars’ training session in Legon.

He added, “We know it’s not going to be easy. Mali has a strong team. We have to train day by day, and hopefully, we will win this game.”
