Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles’ talisman, was recently seen visiting former Manchester United forward Odion Ighalo after his online outburst against Finidi George, according to Sportblog247.com.
Osimhen’s rant came after reports surfaced alleging that his former Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, had faked an injury. The 25-year-old expressed his frustration during an Instagram live session, which was interrupted by Ighalo, who advised him to “calm down, and end the live.”
The 2023 CAF Player of the Year, currently on his summer break, took the opportunity to visit Ighalo. Ighalo has been a mentor to Osimhen and is a strong advocate for the striker joining Manchester United, believing he would excel under Erik Ten Hag. “Having Osimhen and Rashford will cause any defender panic,” Ighalo told Sky Sports. “If Osimhen asks me for advice, I’d advise him to join Manchester United because it’s the biggest club.”
Osimhen’s potential transfer from Napoli’s Armando Diego Maradona Stadium faced a setback as Chelsea withdrew from negotiations due to concerns over his injury history. Italian media suggest that Osimhen might stay at Napoli for another season if no better offers emerge.
