Real Tamale United (RTU) Football Club head coach, Iddi Manzah Alhassan, expressed confidence that his team will make a swift return to the Ghana Premier League following their relegation. This statement came after a 2-0 loss to Kumasi Asante Kotoko officially confirmed RTU’s drop to the Access Bank Division One Zone A.
RTU conceded goals from Paul Acquah in the 60th minute and Bernard Somuah in the 85th minute, placing Kotoko in eighth place in the standings. The defeat condemned RTU to the bottom of the league table, but Manzah Alhassan remains optimistic about the future.
“I want to assure our supporters that while we are going down now, we will return to the Premier League next year. They should keep supporting the team, and we will give our best.”
RTU is set to face Dreams FC and Accra Great Olympics on June 12 and June 15 to close out the season.
