Tom Dele-Bashiru Signs Three-Year Contract Extension with Watford

Nigerian midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru has signed a new three-year contract with English Championship club Watford, as reported by Sportblog247.com.

Dele-Bashiru began his football career at Manchester City but joined Watford in 2019 after his contract ended. Initially, he struggled to secure a consistent starting position at Vicarage Road and spent a season on loan at Reading. However, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder found his form last season, contributing two goals and two assists in 35 appearances, helping Watford finish 15th in the English Championship.

As a reward for his performance, Watford has offered Dele-Bashiru a contract extension, prolonging his stay until 2028. His previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2025. The Manchester City Academy graduate will be looking to build on his success next season as Watford aims for Premier League promotion.

Dele-Bashiru, born in England to Nigerian parents, is eligible to represent both England and Nigeria. He has played for England at the Under-16 level and for Nigeria at the Under-20 and Under-23 levels, though he has yet to make an appearance for the Super Eagles. He is also the older brother of Super Eagles star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
