Talented London-born Nigerian winger Tyrique George has solidified his future with Chelsea by signing a new three-year deal, Sportblog247.com reports.
On Friday, George inked a fresh contract that will keep him at Chelsea until the end of the 2026-2027 season. The Blues acted swiftly to secure his services, with only a year remaining on his previous agreement.
George, a product of Chelsea’s Cobham academy, has been earmarked as a potential first-team player, having been invited to train with the senior squad multiple times last season. Despite being named in the matchday squad for Premier League games against Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham Hotspur, he was not brought off the bench by manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Last season, George emerged as one of the leading goal scorers for Chelsea’s youth teams, netting 20 goals across all competitions. His impressive tally included nine goals in the U18 Premier League, two in the FA Youth Cup, one each in the Premier League International Cup and U18 Premier League Cup, three in Premier League 2, and four in the U21 Premier League Cup.
Renowned for scoring spectacular goals, five of his strikes were nominated for Goal of the Month honors. Internationally, George made his debut for England U18s against France in September 2023 and went on to feature in five more matches throughout the season.
