14th Korean Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championships to Scout Talent for 2026 Youth Olympics

The 14th edition of the Korean Ambassador’s Taekwondo Championships is set to take place on July 27, 2024, at the Trust Sports Emporium. The event aims to select and prepare junior athletes for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal.

Organized by the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF) and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, the inter-regional championships will feature athletes aged 13 to 17 competing in Kyorugi and Poomsae. The competition includes five weight categories for each gender in both junior and cadet Kyorugi, with participants vying for medals, selection opportunities, and the overall best athlete accolade.

Registration for the event opened on June 20 for Ghana Taekwondo registered athletes and closed at midnight on July 15, 2024. A Referees Seminar is also scheduled for July 15, 2024, at the Korean Sports Complex.

Dubbed “Mission to Senegal 2026 Junior Olympics,” the competition will see participation from the ten regions where the GTF operates. The best-performing region will also be recognized.

To facilitate easy transportation, organizers have arranged buses to convey athletes and coaches to and from the venue.
