Austin FC Coach Praises Osman Bukari’s Promising Debut Performance

Black Stars winger Osman Bukari made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut for Austin FC after signing with the team in June.

Bukari started and played 57 minutes in Austin’s 2-2 draw with Charlotte FC, marking his first appearance for the club after joining from Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

In a post-game press conference, Austin FC head coach Josh Wolff praised Bukari’s performance, especially given his lack of preseason preparation with the team.

“I think Buka (Osman Bukari) has qualities that are going to unbalance the opposition. Right away, he provided a change of speed, and he certainly got around the corner a couple of times. If Gyasi (Zardes) capitalizes on that, it’s a fantastic start to the game, but all in all, I thought he did well.”

“I think the more he gets familiar with the group and the more the group gets familiar with him and his unique qualities, the better it will be,” Wolff added.

Bukari is expected to feature in Austin’s next game on July 27 in the Leagues Cup.
