Yverdon-Sport’s top performer from last season, Kevin Carlos, is attracting significant interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Spanish-born Nigerian striker emerged as one of the stars of the 2023-2024 Swiss Super League campaign, sharing the top scorer title with Chadrac Akolo and Zan Celar after netting 14 goals in 35 matches.
Turkish powerhouse Besiktas has initiated discussions with Yverdon-Sport to secure Carlos’s services, aiming to finalize the deal in the coming weeks. However, they face competition from Swiss clubs Servette FC and BSC Young Boys, who are also keen on signing him.
Carlos, 23, initially joined Yverdon-Sport on loan last summer before making the move permanent in January 2024. His stellar performances played a crucial role in helping Yverdon-Sport avoid relegation, with the striker directly contributing to seven goals in his final five Super League appearances.
Previously, Carlos has played alongside Kelechi Nwakali at SD Huesca and has had stints with Almudévar and Real Betis. He has expressed admiration for Super Eagles legend Daniel Amokachi, citing him as a role model in his career.
