Fatawu Issahaku Attributes Leicester Success to Coach Enzo Maresca

Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku attributes his successful stint at Leicester City to former coach Enzo Maresca, who recently moved to Chelsea.

Issahaku, who struggled during his time at Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, joined Leicester on loan before last season and delivered an impressive performance.

The 20-year-old contributed significantly with six goals and 13 assists in the Championship, playing a pivotal role in Leicester’s promotion to the Premier League.

In a recent interview on Joy Prime, Fatawu expressed his gratitude to Maresca for the confidence and guidance provided throughout the season.

“The confidence he instilled in me and his guidance during the league made a big difference,” Fatawu remarked, reflecting on Maresca’s impact on his development.

“With his support, I gained more confidence and was able to perform at my best. It was a natural outcome that I expected.”

While Fatawu will no longer be under Maresca’s direct coaching at Leicester, he looks forward to working with new coach Steve Cooper.
