Fiorentina has rejected a €20 million bid (approximately N33 billion) from Aston Villa for Italian-Nigerian fullback Michael Kayode, as reported by La Nazione via ViolaNews.
Aston Villa, preparing for UEFA Champions League football, sees Kayode as a potential replacement for Matty Cash, who may depart this summer after a long tenure with the club.
Kayode, who impressed in his debut Serie A season with Fiorentina, has garnered interest due to his performances, including 26 appearances and three goal involvements. He earned a top-rated performance of 6.82 on whoscored.com, making him the highest-rated right back in the league.
Named in whoscored.com’s Serie A Team of the Season, Kayode has also attracted attention from Tottenham Hotspur, who are eyeing him as a replacement for Emerson Royal.
