Fleetwood Town Declines Randers FC’s Bid for Ghanaian Forward Maleace Asamoah

English League Two club Fleetwood Town has turned down an offer from Danish Super Liga side Randers FC for Ghanaian forward Maleace Asamoah. Asamoah, the son of former Ghanaian international Derek Asamoah, has impressed while on loan at Irish club Waterford FC.

His standout performances in the Irish league have attracted interest from overseas clubs, including Randers FC.

Fleetwood Town is keen to retain the winger, whose contract runs until June 2025 and could potentially leave on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, reports from the UK indicate that negotiations are underway between Asamoah and Fleetwood regarding a contract extension, even as he continues his loan spell at Waterford.

Asamoah’s loan agreement with Waterford expires in November 2024, after which he is expected to return to Fleetwood. The talented forward has made a significant impact at Waterford, contributing ten goals in 17 matches, scoring six goals and providing four assists.

Born in England to Ghanaian parents, Asamoah is eligible to represent the Ghana national team, the Black Stars.
