Ghanaian midfielder Francis Abu has returned to training with Belgian club Cercle Brugge as they prepare for the upcoming season in the Belgium Pro League.
Abu, a key player in Cercle Brugge’s qualification for European competition, cut short his vacation to join his teammates early for pre-season preparations.
The team has been engaging in rigorous drills and ball work to build fitness ahead of their first pre-season friendly against AEK Larnaca on Saturday, July 6, 2024. Subsequent matches include fixtures against AS Monaco and Feyenoord in the weeks to follow.
Cercle Brugge’s competitive season kicks off with UEFA Europa League qualifiers against Kilmarnock on July 25.
Abu, who recently signed a contract extension, will remain with Cercle Brugge until the summer of 2026.
