GFA Imposes One-Year Ban on Five Real Tamale United Officials

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has handed a one-year ban to five officials of Real Tamale United (RTU) for their involvement in a serious breach of regulations during Matchday 28 against Dreams FC.

The banned officials are Iddi Manzah Alhassan, Abdul-Samed Iddrisu, Abdul-Gafaru Salifu, Tanko Jentumah, and Sylvester Yaw Apanka. The sanctions follow RTU’s use of unregistered players to impersonate officially registered players, which misled the match officials and compromised the integrity of the game.

The GFA’s decision highlights its commitment to maintaining high standards and accountability in football. The bans, effective immediately, underscore the importance of ethical conduct within the sport.

RTU’s use of unregistered players, prompted by the refusal of registered players to travel, resulted in a heavy 8-1 loss to Dreams FC in Dawu. Despite the club’s admission of guilt and plea for leniency, the severity of the breach led to strict penalties from the GFA Disciplinary Committee.
