Ghana Athletics President Explains Edwin Gadayi’s Exclusion from Paris 2024 Olympics

Ghana Athletics President, Bawa Fuseini, has clarified that Edwin Gadayi’s exclusion from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games is due to a new regulation introduced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Gadayi, who was part of the 4×100 men’s relay team that qualified in the Bahamas, will not be able to compete in Paris.

Fuseini explained that Gadayi was initially included in the team’s first list for the Games. However, the new regulation necessitated his removal. “It was not our decision to take him out because he was in our first list for the Olympic Games, and we know this will be hard for them,” Fuseini stated. He added that Gadayi has been informed about the situation and understands the circumstances.

Despite this setback, Gadayi has had an impressive year, winning the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human competition and excelling at the CAA Regional 100m dash, as well as performing well during the 13th African Games.
