Ghana Swimming President Aims for Dominance in West and Central Africa, Eyes Global Stage

President of the Ghana Swimming Association, Delphina Quaye, has outlined the association’s ambitious goal to dominate Zone 2, encompassing West and Central African nations, and then progress to the African and global stages.

In an interview with Channel One Sports during the Channel One TV National Swimming Championship at the Borteyman Sports Complex on July 13 and 14, Quaye expressed optimism about Ghana’s future in swimming. The two-day competition concluded with Legon Sharks emerging as the overall best team, surpassing GH Dolphins and last year’s winners, Marlins Swim Club.

“We are happy to see progress,” Quaye said. “Our first goal is to conquer Zone 2, which includes West and Central Africa. Leading our zone will be a significant achievement, allowing us to aim for success across Africa and eventually on the world stage.”

Quaye highlighted the promising results and the potential of young swimmers, emphasizing the long-term prospects for Ghana’s swimming future.
