Ghanaian Midfielder James Akaminko Joins Rayon Sports on Loan from Azam FC

Ghanaian midfielder James Akaminko is set to join Rayon Sports in Rwanda on a season-long loan deal from Tanzanian club Azam FC.

The agreement was finalized on Monday, July 22, and Akaminko, who will not be part of Azam FC’s squad for the 2024/25 season, will join the Rwandan club with an option for a permanent transfer in June 2025.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder brings a wealth of experience from his previous stints with Tema Youth, Medeama, Heart of Lions, Great Olympics, and the Ghana U23 national team.

Akaminko’s move to Rayon Sports is expected to bolster their midfield as they prepare for the upcoming season, providing him with a new platform to demonstrate his skills and potentially secure a long-term position with the club.
