Hearts of Oak’s Salifu Ibrahim and Glid Otanga Join Clubs in Kosovo and Qatar

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club’s roster for the upcoming season is evolving as players depart while new signings are announced. Recently, the club signed goalkeeper Benjamin Asare from Accra Great Olympics and Michael Awuah. However, they have also seen the departure of midfielders Salifu Ibrahim and Glid Otanga.

Salifu Ibrahim has joined FC Drita in Kosovo after a stellar performance for Hearts in the 2020-2021 Ghana Premier League, where Hearts clinched the title. Ibrahim’s impressive season earned him the League’s Best Player Award, with two goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Congolese midfielder Glid Otanga has officially signed with Qatari side Al Kharaitiyat SC after a two-year stint with Hearts. Otanga, who joined Hearts from Cameroonian club Coton Sport, made 53 appearances and registered two assists during his time with the Phobia Club.

Hearts of Oak will open the 2024-2025 season against newly promoted Basake Holy Stars between September 6 and September 9.
