Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has expressed his excitement about rejoining Atalanta Bergamo, where he began his European football journey. The club announced his signing on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, though the contract length was not disclosed, as he transferred from Cagliari.
Following the official announcement by the Europa League champions, Sulemana shared his enthusiasm on social media, stating, “Excited to be back home at Atalanta BC where my European journey started five years ago. I can’t wait to give my all on the field to the people of Bergamo.”
Sulemana, 21, was one of Cagliari’s standout performers in his debut season after joining from Hellas Verona following their promotion to Serie A. He made 21 appearances for Cagliari during the 2023/24 campaign, scoring two goals under Claudio Ranieri’s guidance.
His impressive performances at Cagliari earned him his first call-up to the Ghana national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
Sulemana’s return to Atalanta marks a significant step in his career, as he looks forward to contributing to his former club’s success.
