Princella Adubea Expresses Disappointment Over Black Queens’ Olympic Qualifying Miss

Black Queens forward Princella Adubea has expressed her disappointment over the team’s failure to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris. Ghana narrowly missed out on qualification after a last-minute goal by Barbara Banda in their qualifiers against Zambia in Ndola last year.

Adubea, who was sidelined due to injury, commended her teammates for their efforts during the two-legged match.

“I was sad we didn’t qualify for the Olympics because of the way we planned qualifying together, but unfortunately, we couldn’t make it,” Adubea told Sportblog247.com. “Even though I wasn’t part of the team, I trusted my girls to deliver, but in football, you can’t be 100 percent sure of winning. Sometimes you will lose, sometimes too you will win but I think we can build on the positives from now.”

In a positive turn of events, the Black Queens have secured a spot in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in six years after defeating Namibia to qualify for the continental championship. The team is currently in Japan for an international friendly against Japan on July 13.
