Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Victor Osimhen continues as the French giants seek to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season, Sportblog247.com reports.
With Kylian Mbappe already departed for Real Madrid, PSG is in need of a new focal point in their forward line.
PSG’s interest in Osimhen is well-known, but they are also ardent admirers of another Napoli star—Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian playmaker excelled alongside Osimhen as Napoli clinched a historic Scudetto title last year. Kvaratskhelia was named Serie A Player of the Year, while Osimhen won the Striker of the Year award during that memorable campaign.
According to Corriere dello Sport via Tutto Napoli, PSG is prepared to sign both Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia this summer. The French champions are offering Napoli €200 million to secure the services of these two exciting attackers.
However, this deal may face complications. While Napoli might be willing to let Osimhen leave the Diego Maradona Stadium, Kvaratskhelia remains integral to their plans in Naples. On the day of his unveiling as the new coach of Napoli, Antonio Conte referred to Kvaratskhelia as an ‘unsellable’ asset of the team.
Additionally, €200 million might not suffice for both players, as Osimhen has a €130 million release clause in his contract.
With no deal yet finalized, Osimhen returned to Napoli this week to join the club’s preseason activities. The Super Eagles striker scored 17 goals and provided four assists in all competitions for Napoli last season.
