Ghana’s contingent for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France, will depart on Wednesday, July 10. This was announced by Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) President Ben Nunoo Mensah at the official unveiling of Team Ghana’s kit for the Games.
In an interview with Channel One Sports, the GOC President expressed gratitude to the French Embassy in Ghana for its financial contribution of 20,000 Euros to the Ghanaian contingent. Marine Hayem, the Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy in Ghana, emphasized that this contribution reflects the embassy’s commitment to supporting sports in Ghana.
The 2024 Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, with nine athletes representing Team Ghana. The team is headlined by 2023 African Games high jump champion Rose Yeboah, who recently won her second gold medal at the Africa Athletics Championship in Douala, Cameroon. Additionally, members of Ghana’s 4×100 Men’s Relay Team will be part of Team Ghana after securing their Olympic ticket at the World Relays in the Bahamas.
