Bolton Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo has caught the attention of several unnamed Turkish clubs during the summer transfer window. According to Football Insider’s transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, the Ibadan-born player is a target for multiple Turkish teams this summer.
Adeboyejo joined Bolton Wanderers in January 2023 from Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee. Since joining the Trotters, he has scored thirteen goals and provided three assists in 64 appearances across all competitions.
Despite Adeboyejo’s contributions, Bolton missed out on promotion to the Championship via the playoffs, following a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United last month.
A number of Nigerian players have transitioned from Turkey to England in recent years, including Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel and former Nigeria Olympic national team invitee Uche Ikpeazu, who were acquired by Fenerbahce and Konyaspor, respectively. Additionally, Nigeria legend and former Middlesbrough midfielder John Obi Mikel had a brief stint at Trabzonspor before retiring from professional football.
Adeboyejo, a product of the Leyton Orient academy, has previously played for Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, and Cambridge United.
