Ghana’s National Under 20 Women’s National Team (Black Princesses) head coach, Yusif Basigi, has praised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for its efforts in improving women’s football.
In an exclusive interview with Channel One Sports during the 2024 Ghana Football Awards, where he was named Women’s Coach of the Year, Basigi commended the GFA for its dedication and support.
Basigi, who also coaches Women’s Premier League side Hasaacas Ladies, lauded Hasaacas striker Mukarama Abdulai after she won the Female Home-Based Footballer of the Year Award.
Currently in camp with 35 Black Princesses players preparing for the 2024 FIFA Women’s Under 20 World Cup in Colombia, Basigi praised the GFA’s efforts in women’s football, stating, “The GFA has done very well for women’s football in particular. We have to pay a lot of compliment to the GFA for the effort that the President has put on for the love he has for women’s football. We are also doing everything possible to reciprocate with the kind of support that he has for us.”
Under the leadership of Kurt Okraku, the Black Princesses won gold at the 2023 African Games.
